Our last Cultural Chat of the year was led by two outstanding professionals, Mr. Xay Vongxay and Mr. Frank Pham from Hella Good Deeds KC. A group of our male Asian students joined this meaningful conversation, exploring diverse topics around identity, leadership, and life success.
Students gained valuable tools and inspiration to support their personal growth and future goals. Thank you to our facilitators for their time, wisdom, and leadership.

As part of Vice Principal Ms. Vann’s initiative, Viking Chat brings students together for open conversations with guest speakers who inspire and encourage positive decision-making.
Recently, Ms. Béty Lê Shackelford, founder and executive director of Hella Good Deeds & Lori Pham, met with 15 Asian female students & Ms. Le to discuss their experiences moving to Kansas City. The students shared stories filled with both laughter and thoughtful reflection, leaving the session with new tools and confidence to support their future success..
