We are deeply grateful to everyone who took the time to share their voice and help shape our priorities as we build next school year’s budget.
Your participation—through feedback, conversations, and thoughtful reflection—ensures that this process reflects the needs, values, and aspirations of our KCPS community. Budgeting is about more than numbers; it is about people, and your input helps us make decisions that better support our students, staff, and families.
In order to continue aligning KCPS budget priorities in coordination with our community, please consider joining us for a Public Budget Hearing:
• May 27 at 6 p.m.
• Board of Education building, 2901 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO

It was wonderful to see every Viking cadet recognized in the JROTC Court of Honor. Each one looked sharp, confident, and elegant—an impressive display of pride, dedication, and professionalism. In the photo JROTC instructors Major Dillon and MSG Rudd.

Our last Cultural Chat of the year was led by two outstanding professionals, Mr. Xay Vongxay and Mr. Frank Pham from Hella Good Deeds KC. A group of our male Asian students joined this meaningful conversation, exploring diverse topics around identity, leadership, and life success.
Students gained valuable tools and inspiration to support their personal growth and future goals. Thank you to our facilitators for their time, wisdom, and leadership.
📸 Pictured are Mr. Vongxay, Mr. Pham, and Ms. Vann, Vice Principal.

As part of our Cultural Chat series, Chica Charla was led by Ms. Matos, our College Advisor, proudly born in Peru. Ms. Matos shared her personal life experiences growing up and building her future in the United States, creating a welcoming and inspiring space for conversation.
In a friendly and uplifting dialogue, our Latina female students shared their dreams, goals, and hopes for their futures. It felt like a close‑knit community—united by shared experiences, culture, and aspirations
